Bradshaw EV helps Thames Water put switch to electric into full flow

Thames Water orders 25 Goupil electric vehicles from Bradshaw EV, advancing its Net Zero 2030 goal and supporting the UK’s collective sustainability targets.

Thames Water has recently taken order of 25 Goupil vehicles from one of the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial electric vehicles, Bradshaw Electric Vehicles.

The significant order comprises of a mix of Bradshaw’s Goupil range, which includes: the G2 and G4 pick-ups, cage bodies and box vans.

Bought as a part of the water giant’s company-wide fleet replacement programme, the all-electric utility vehicles will be used for various operations across multiple sites.

Supplying around 2.6 billion litres of water to around nine million customers throughout the country as well as removing around 4.4 billion  litres of sewage every single day, Thames Water has grown to become the largest water and wastewater company in the UK.

With a strong belief in ‘building a better future for its customers, the region and the planet’ Thames Water has purchased the 25 Goupil vehicles as it gears up towards its commitment of achieving Net Zero status by 2030 for its general operations.

The utilities giant also aims to go beyond Net Zero status and become a totally carbon free business by 2040 – with its ongoing fleet programme to all-electric being a vital component in reaching this ambitious milestone.

Having supplied industrial electric vehicles for nearly 40 years, this latest order by Thames Water acts as a historic moment for Bradshaw, as the country bands together to drive the UK forward towards its collective Net Zero goal by 2050.

With Thames Water looking to best that target by 20 years, the ambitious conglomerate is already well on its way to slashing its emissions across its entire operation.
