With a history stretching back more than three centuries Tattersalls is the leading auctioneer of racehorses in the UK and Ireland.
Handling the sales of some 4,000 horses every year, the business is situated on a 46-acre site which is home to almost 1,000 stables to accommodate the number of animals potentially on site at any one time.

Attracting general spectators as well as established owners and trainers, the site also accommodates the sales ring and a number of restaurants.

With such a vast area to maintain the company recently approached leading electrical utility vehicle specialist Bradshaw for advice on the most suitable vehicle to add to its on-site fleet.

Following advice from the experts Tattersalls chose two Goupil G4 pick-up tippers.

The G4 vehicles include pick-ups, vans and waste collectors, all designed for multi-use purposes. With an operational range of 68 miles and a maximum speed of 31mph the G4 is equipped with an array of body types to cater to the customer’s specific requirements and features a safe and secure cabin and both left and right hand drive options.

With 11 different variations to choose from the G4’s greater payload offers an ideal electric vehicle for many stop-start and last mile applications and is ideally suited to low-emission zones whilst delivering optimal performance and low vehicle operating costs.

Sheridan Cole is Grounds Foreman at Tattersalls.  He said: “We’ve had four of these vehicles before from Bradshaw although the first three came second hand through another supplier, but the last one we bought was a newer design and we found it was excellent and its non-maintenance lithium-ion batteries were also much better.

“We had a fair idea of what we needed because of what we’d already been using but Bradshaw came out and we worked on the spec together. They were really helpful, even down to registering the vehicles for us so we can use on the roads. They even offered to take our older vehicles off our hands so they were able to be recycled.”

Sheridan said it was the first time he and his team had worked with Bradshaw, following a recommendation from Tattersall’s maintenance team.

He said: “If we’d have known about Bradshaw before we’d have gone to them direct for our older vehicles, simply for the speed and the convenience of the service. The minimal maintenance on the vehicles needed and the fact the team can just charge them while they’re eating their lunch really suits our requirements. There is no effort on our part which means we can continue to focus on the tasks at hand.”
