An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Assistant to join Bradshaw Electric Vehicles, the leading UK manufacturer and supplier of specialist material handling equipment.
You will be part of a busy, hardworking but friendly environment with a company that Design, and manufacture all on one site.
You should maintain a friendly and approachable attitude, working in a timely fashion, whilst delivering excellent customer service to maintain the high standards our customers expect. This role requires a minimum of 3 years purchasing experience, good IT skills, organized, proactive and an effective communicator.
Reporting to: The Buyer
Requirements:-
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Some working knowledge of vehicle parts would be an advantage.
- Full driver’s license
Duties to include:-
- Work with the factory personnel to maintain production
- Daily running of the MRP
- Raise purchase orders and chase suppliers as required.
- Updating production requests.
- Ensure all items arrive on time (OTF) in line with build schedules times given by the factory manager and service requirements given by the service manager
- Assist R & D in sourcing new suppliers and products.
- Liaise with external customers as required.
- Ensure collections and deliveries are carried out in the most efficient way.
- Help cover for other team members during holiday or sickness periods
- To maintain a clean, safe working environment
- To be part of the continuous improvement program in line with ISO9001
Key Targets:
- Ensure all parts are on site for each requested production date.
- Monitor and improve critical suppliers in terms of cost, quality & delivery.
- Improve the general purchasing situation for all items, look to hold more effective stocks, change min / max levels, push for better lead times etc.
General:-

Remuneration:-
- You will be paid every month on the 15th of that month.
- You will be required to work a 40 per week or such other hours as may be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job. With standard 21 days holiday plus bank holidays 3 or 4 days holiday each year is kept back to allow for the Christmas break
- A company bonus which is a variable % of the basic salary paid quarterly if the company achieves its targets. This starts after 12 months continuous employment with the company.
- In January of each year the Directors will notify those employees who will be entitled to bonus/commission as to the calculation of bonus/commission for the forthcoming year.
